Songs so awesome, they make you cry 2
2 Comments April 27, 2009 / Posted in Songs & Stories That Make You Cry by Steve. This Bonnie Raitt version of this song will always be one of my favorite chokers for 3 different reasons. 1) her singing is as wonderful as plaintiff lost love singing can ever be 2) the piano playing by Bruce Hornsby brings me to tears because it’s so incredibly perfect for the song, and is undeniably a master at work 3) the lyric is so heartfelt, the subject matter is universal, poignant and painful.
For anyone who has had no choice when they’re being left behind, this is the ultimate sad song about lost love. The song was written by Mike Reid and Allen Shamblin. Prince also covered this wonderfully. I prefer Bonnie’s quiet and sad version.

Now this Kellie Pickler tune is also a powerful tear jerker, especially if you know the back story. This video is a live performance of the tune, and Ms. Pickler breaks down right at the end of the song. She co-wrote this song called “I Wonder,” and it’s about wondering why her mother gave her up for adoption. Although I have great compassion for Ms Pickler’s mother’s unfortunate lack of participation in Kelly’s life, I have come to understand that parents make mistakes… and sometimes a parent is compassionate enough to realize that a brand new baby, isn’t the best thing that could happen to them. We all go through our trials and tribulations. Some last much longer than others.

Wauw! My gosh! It’s amazing how she can sing at all with all this emotion. So: deep respect!
It reminds of a song Mariza sings. I already loved this song profoundly when I heard it on my cd. And it was a real favorite of mine. But when I saw this video I never can listen to it anymore without crying…Such tristesse…
Have goosebumps all over every time I hear this song now…and tears are flowing…every time…

Hi Steve,Bonnie Raitt, one of my all time favourite artists.I saw her in Nottingham a couple of years ago.I was front row centre looking up at her in a physical and metaphorical sense.
Amazing!!!
Only slight disappointment was,she didn’t play more guitar.
