When seen through the focus of the law of attraction, the act of writing love letters is a powerful form of setting intentions. In writing, you spend time alone with your thoughts envisioning the life you want to lead. You fill your brain with the experiences you want to create with your beloved, and you take delight in those things that make you happy.

I long since realized that for me the magic of writing love letters is the joy and excitement I feel when I fill my consciousness with exciting thoughts of love. I use the term love letter loosely. For me it can be any communication using any medium from napkins and sticky notes to tweets and emails to more traditional longhand on matching stationery and envelopes sealed with wax.

No matter how you communicate, there is consciousness behind it, and that’s where the law of attraction comes in. It’s all in the mind.

Focus on the joys you want to create with someone, and that’s what you’ll attract. See yourself in love, enchanted, and satisfied. Celebrate all the things that you like about this person and share the visions of thrilling, harmonizing, life-sweetening experiences you’ve had or want to have. When I do this I even envision a giant magnet popping out of my head and sending out a beam of light into the universe to attract what I am writing about.

Love letters are not about false flattery and insincere compliments. They are not about manipulating someone to do something you want them to do. Rather, they are about communicating positive energy and creating a life of joyous partnership. Put your best intentions and true desires into your love letters and watch how over time your life will grow into the shape of your design.

Of course, many classic love letters dive into the choppy seas of the heartsick lover. If your letters wander off into jealousy, revenge-seeking, blaming, despair, “woe is me,” and so on, you’ll end up using the law of attraction to create suffering instead of joy. The more you focus on bad things that could happen, especially when you feed those visions with the power of strong emotion, the likelier you are to create much more ugliness.

?Use your love letter writing time to focus only on what you want to happen or to celebrate what you already have that you deeply cherish. Devote your consciousness to filling your love reservoir. You’ll know that you’re doing this when you feel good writing it. The more you communicate your positive vision, and the more enthusiasm you channel for positive outcomes, the more likely it is that you will experience wealth in love.
