I’ve met Leonard on Powerful Intentions, my favorite website to talk about the Law of Attraction. I can’t say that every word in his writing is going to become my gospel truth. I offer it here as part of our study into the Law of Attraction and the Vortex, a book by Jerry & Esther Hicks that I am currently reading.

I just read stuff, and sift through it to collect what feels right…what resonates with me. And this feels really great, or I wouldn’t have posted it.

What is the Secret once and for all?

Part 1
Millions of people have seen the DVD the Secret or at least heard about it. Many have come away with a new view point on life. Self-help gurus have been telling people “that you are what you think about” for years. Think and Grow Rich, one of the best books on the subject, has been around for over 70 years. The power of positive thinking has been a buzz word for hundreds of years Million of books, tapes, CDs and DVDs have been produces on the subject, yet still 80% of the population on Earth live in poverty, misery or frustration. You are frustrated and a little bit upset. You think positive, yet you still maybe broke or unfulled. What is this Law of Attraction anyway and how does it work? Or does it? You may be thinking, “I’ve been thinking about having more money all my life and I’m still broke” Okay, I’ve read all the books, saw all the DVDs, and listened to hours of CDs yet nothing changes.Where am I going wrong?

Part 2
The answer is simple. we have been buying a lie for the past 3000 years. Our oncepts of Heaven and hell, God and the Devil are at the base of all our problems. These concepts were started by “religions” as a form of control. They have been indoctrinated into humanity when people were mostly illiterate and vulnerable. Religion, all religions started out to explain God, found out they couldn’t do it and reverted to making up a set of rules for their faithful to follow. If these rules were violated then “Religion” conveniently had an ace in the hole. God will do the judging and punishing. The treat of hell became the sword that “Religion” held over humanity’s head. The very vehicle that was supposed to teach us who we are, why we are here, and where we are going hasn’t the foggiest idea what the truth is!

Part 3
The “Secret” is still to the majority of people on this planet, unknown. Not anymore, people are starting to hear the truth. Who am I? You are God and God is you. WOW I hope I didn’t lose everybody with that truth. The Religious concept of God is this Superior human-looking man with a white beard who sits up in Heaven and decides who goes to Heaven and who goes to Hell. Imagine this. A man dies and God says, “you did not go to Mass on Sundays so you go to Hell”. The man says, But God, I am Jewish. I don’t have to go to Mass, God says you don’t look Jewish. And what’s with the name Johnson? That’s not Jewish. Wait a minute, it says here you like Ham and Cheese sandwiches. That’s not Kosher! The man adds, But God, are you going to send me to Hell for eternity for eating ham and cheese sandwiches..God replies Well I know it doesn’t sound fair but look I have 17,690,721 more people to judge before lunch today. I don’t have time to decide which set of Religious rules you were supposed to be following. There has to be 10,000 different religions down there with a million different rules. By the way I did not start any Religion. Man’s lust for power started individual religions and they expect me to do all the dirty work.

Part 4
Let me answer Who Am I in a way that seems reasonable. Let say God is like the ocean and each individual soul(sub-conscious mind) is a tiny drop of water in the ocean. Our soul(sub-conscious mind) is infinite. It always was and always will be. It is separate from all the other drops, yet together make up the ocean(GOD). We decide we want to experience a physical life, so we choose our parents and God places that little soul into a new born baby. God gives that newborn baby a conscious mind. Your mind is your body. Your body gets information from your five senses; what you taste, smell,see, hear and touch. This information is stored in your brain as memory. You are a product of that memory. In other words, you are what you think about all day long. Your body grows and so does your memory.However one day your body will die and your conscious mind will die with it, including your memory. Your soul (sub-conscious mind) that little drop of water will return to the Ocean(GOD) waiting to reincarnate in another body and a new conscious mind. However your spirit(Soul or Sub-Conscious mind) remembers all your lives and all your memories. In this explanation there is no judgment; there is no punishment to your sub-conscious mind(soul). All the punishment or reward is activated in this life before you die.Once you die, you revert back to GOD, pure and all-knowing. We have lived thousands of physical lives and will continue to live thousands more. to be continued.

Part 5
The next question then is Why Am I here? You are here to seek happiness and success. You are here to enjoy the ride on the river, the scaling of Mount Everest, the thrill of skiing, surfboarding or sky diving. You are here to smell the flowers, to enjoy the beauty of a sunset, building a snowman or riding a roller coaster. You are here for the thrill of standing on the deck of a sail boat as it knives through the water and even to look at that amazing world beneath the waves.
You are here to experience the love of another person, the joys of sex and the raising of a family. These experiences can only be appreciated in the physical world, so we keep coming back no matter how wonderful Heaven is. This world is one of contrast. You must choose between good or bad, by the way you think. You will create your world around you by what you think and believe. Nothing happens by accident or coincidence. Everything is attracted to you by the vibrations that you send out. The Law of Attraction works every time weather you believe it or not. Just like the Law of Gravity, it works even if you don’t understand it or believe it. If you want proof, step off the balcony of a 20-story building and you will have proof beyond a shadow of doubt.
Where am I going? Well I guess I pretty much answered that question. You are aligned with the energies of Source (God), you are connected to the energies of Source (God), and you allow the energies of Source (God) to flow through you. YOU ARE GOD and God is you, me and everything else in the Universe. So where are we going when we die? We go back home to God where we came from. God has blessed us with his Universal Super-conscious mind. We are infinite, to my knowledge no other creature or thing is blessed with this Universal Super-conscious mind. In other words, there is no infinity built into a carrot.

Part 6
So now, how do we use this secret “I am God”? Well you certainly can’t go running around town telling everybody you meet “that I am God” because of their misconception of God is clouded by 10,000 years of lies, half-truths, and religious conceptions. Here are the steps to making the Law of Attraction work for you:
Step I: Start with your conscious mind. Your conscious mind is like the operator of a computer. You must first decide WHAT it is that you want. Without this order nothing happens. Let’s say you want to earn $1000 a week. Your command must be positive and in a manner as if it already is happening. So you say every morning: “I am enjoying earning $1000 a week, with this money I will pay down all my debt. I will set aside 10% or $100 each week for investments. I will live within my budget. I know this money is speeding its way to me.”
Now here is the mechanics behind this command. Your body is a sending and receiving station for vibrational energy. This positive vibrational command will go out into the Universal Sub-conscious mind, which is like google. It is a storing house for all vibrational energy, both positive and negative. Since your command is a positive one, it will attract (Law of Attraction) thousands of positive vibrations from all the successful people in the Universe and send them to you. Your brain will now filter through the vibrations and find those that are within your ability to achieve. These vibrations will come to you in the form of ideas. You will start to see yourself implementing these ideas into action, which will lead you into a different direction than what you have been following. Whether it’s a new job, starting a business, or just doing your present job so much better that your company raises your salary to $1000 a week.
Now this system works with everything. For finding a lover, becoming healthier changing careers or just being happier. The system is infallible and, unless you negate it with negative vibrations, will work every time. Here are the necessary components:
You must believe.
You must give the command, as if it has already happened.
You must be patient. It’s not a magic lamp and your wish will not be granted immediately.
You must believe.
You must be patient.
You must believe.
You get the idea.

Part 7
We need to understand the vehicle that makes your commands, wishes, dreams or ideas come into being. It’s called the Vortex. The Vortex is a swirling eddy of positive vibrational energy that attracts like positive vibrational energy and moves the Universe to make your thoughts physical. We can’t see this Vortex but we can feel it. It feels like “I have a good idea” or “I know I can do that”. I call the Vortex your appreciation zone. In other words, if you want to change some part of your life you have to dwell on the part of your life you are happy with. For instance, let’s say there is some talk in your company about layoffs and everyone is worried. You go into your vortex by saying, “Well, if I get laid off at least I’m in good health or have the right training to find a better job”. Or you may say, “I’m going to do my job so well that I will not be one of those who gets laid off”. Or you may even say, “If I get laid off, this will be a great time for me to get into something that I like more, or this is a great opportunity for me to start my own business or get more education in those businesses that are recession proof”. You may be the only one in your company who is going the extra mile and your employer may see you as management material.
Remember, nothing happens by accident and there is no such thing as coincidence. Everything is ordered by the vibrations you send out. Send out positive vibrations and positive things will happen. Send out negative vibrations and you will end up on the short end. So you have a choice. Get into the Vortex and shape your world or stay out of the Vortex and worry about nothing good ever happening to you. To prove my point, let’s look at things outside the Vortex:
Government: All government activity is outside the Vortex. Politicians use their position to feather their own nest at the expense of others.
Religion: Most religions are outside the Vortex. Religions have caused more wars and heartaches that any other entity. They very vehicle that is supposed to be bringing us together is trying its hardest to separate us from God and from our fellow mankind.
Schools: Outside the Vortex. Teachers are not free to be creative. They must follow strict curriculum no matter how inefficient it is.
Parents: Constantly outside the vortex. They are filling their children with their own fears, prejudices, and misconceptions.
Friends: Almost always outside the vortex. Friends want you to act in a way that makes them happy, even if it makes you unhappy.
Relatives: They live outside the vortex. They think the world is going to Hell in a hand basket.
Now I know this is being extreme and does not apply to everyone, but you get the picture. I’m 75 years old and for 74 of those years I never heard of the Vortex. In my opinion that is the problem with this planet. Everything, and I mean everything, can be accomplished inside the vortex. Nothing, and I mean nothing, is ever accomplished outside the Vortex.

Part 8
So what is the secret? The Vortex. Learn all you can about the vortex. Think about the Vortex; every time you need to make a decision, go into the Vortex. Think of your Vortex as your own personal magic genie. To get into the Vortex takes a little practice, but think of it as your appreciation zone. No matter how bad things get, there will always be something that you feel good about. It could be your health, family, friends, job or career. If you have any pets, think of them and that almost always will get you in the Vortex. Music will have the same effect.
Once you understand Who you are, Why you are here, and Where you are going, then you will understand how easy it is to get into the Vortex. You need not stay in the Vortex all the time, you need to be dead to do that, but any time you need it you can get into it almost immediately. So here is your challenge, make up a little sign that says, “Get into the Vortex” and carry it with you all the time. Take the time to read it and think about it. Never make a major decision without getting into the Vortex first.
We are starting to understand the real truth and sooner or later the world will start to change for the better. It starts with a few people; you, me, and a few others who always knew deep down in their hearts that God is not vengeful, cruel, or favors some and not others. You also know that the devil, evil, sin, pain, prejudice, anger, vengeance, and revenge are all illusions created by early religious leaders to control masses. They were created by a few leaders seeking power. We know that “power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely”.
There is no need to condemn “religion” because we need religion to bring the masses to the truth. It is not necessary to suffer pain to know happiness. All evil is of this world and can be eliminated completely by education. Where do we look for this education? We look into our Sub-conscious mind. All the truth is stored there, waiting for us to ask Who am I? Why am I here? Where am I going?
Once you grasp this concept fully, look for one person who is seeking the truth. Then seek the wisdom that is buried in your own heart and Sub-conscious mind and share it with that person. Then the two of you seek two more people who yearn for the truth, who want to make this life enjoyable, prosperous, meaningful, and share this most wonderful concept. World peace is just 30 days away, but it has to start somewhere. It might as well be with you and me. Then God will say to you, “You have done well, grasshopper. Come and sit by my side.”
