Would YOU Live with Your Mastermind Group?
Posted in Internet Marketing, Law of AttractionSue and I had a mastermind group with about 6 other people for a good 6 months when we were just getting started on-line. (That reminds me, we should get involved in another one soon.) Eventually, that mastermind fizzled out. At the time, we were mildly perplexed and a little miffed about it. It was fun, we looked forward to it, but truthfully, it ended because it was simply the right time for it to end. Some people make the mistake of thinking that a mastermind is supposed to last longer than most of the other people that are in it, think.
A mastermind mind lasts for exactly as long as the energy that the members put into it. Sometimes they burn out like light bulbs. It’s no big deal if they do. Just get yourself a new light bulb.
BECAUSE
There is also something very special that masterminds create. That is, life-long relationships that you can revisit, and an agreement with those people to focus on what’s working and what’s not working as objectively as possible. They also create an separate entity like a marriage can. Now maybe everyone’s masterminds aren’t as objective as our first one was… maybe not everyone makes that a priority. But what I can tell you about how I was in that first mastermind, is that I listened supportively, made suggestions without needing to have them be implemented and I told tell the truth when I smelled someone buying their own bullshit. I don’t see a mastermind group as a backslapping club at all. I don’t think they need to be uncomfortable either, I just think that they are less effective if there is never any tension between the members. The problems also attract the insight we’re looking for, from masterminds.
We know the guys we masterminded with are really good people. They became trusted sounding boards and they will always be potential partners. Which brings us to today.
Our friends Bradley Will and Gabe Strom were in our very first mastermind. They rock in that kick-ass way that 20-Somethings do. They are willing to put their lives and ambitions out there for the world to see. And so Sue and I would love to turn you on to them and their plans.
Bradley and Gabe are also 2 of the guys that have formed the company Social Spin and are doing the online reality show – Unstrapp’d, Reality TV For Entrepreneurs. Their story is so exciting and inspiring – you have to check them out! In the picture below, Bradley is standing on left and Gabe is seated on the couch just behind and to the right of him. That is their whole team of entrepreneurs.
But can you imagine LIVING IN A HOUSE, 24/& with your entire mastermind? Wow these guys got it going on!
What do you think? Can you imagine working and living with all the people in your company? When would you consider living with your business partners? What kind of situation would cause you to feel like doing that? I think it’s incredibly brave and COMMITTED to success. Then again, I married my business partner… and she’s absolutely perfect.
